Hello, I'm Nick Hipa.

For over 20 years I've been fortunate to build a career around creativity. Most people know me as a guitarist, having spent many years recording and touring with As I Lay Dying, later co-founding Wovenwar, and continuing that journey with my current band, MIRE. More recently, I've had the opportunity to perform live with God Forbid and connect with guitarists around the world through online content.

While music has always been the foundation of my career, it's only one part of what I do. Over the years, a genuine curiosity for learning and creating has led me down a number of different paths. From co-owning and operating San Diego's legendary Brick by Brick to directing, filming, editing, and creating motion graphics for hundreds of music videos, lyric videos, and digital campaigns, I've always been drawn to the process of bringing ideas to life.

Whether it’s writing music, producing visual content, or developing creative concepts, I'm driven by the same goal: creating work that feels thoughtful, authentic, and meaningful.
