As I Lay Dying - An Ocean Between Us

This record marked the beginning of our band branching out beyond the melodic metalcore we were commonly associated with at the time. Songs like “Within Destruction” or the Grammy nominated “Nothing Left” showcased a sonic expansion rooted in our desire to incorporate more elements of heavy music we were inspired by.

An Ocean Between Us is also the first record to feature Josh Gilbert (bassist/vocals), whose talent as a songwriter and overall versatility as a musician allowed the band to explore more uncharted musical territory.
